Sask. Party government to cut ties with GTH

Jan 4, 2019 | 12:51 PM

The provincial government is taking the first steps to cutting ties with the Global Transportation Hub west of Regina, minister responsible for the centre Don Morgan announced Friday morning.

In a news release, Morgan said the GTH’s board of directors is in the middle of looking for a consultant to help the government divest itself from the massive transport complex.

“We believe the GTH plays a vital role in Saskatchewan’s export oriented economy and will for many years to come,” Morgan said in the release.

“However, the GTH will be in a better position to reach its full potential operated by the private sector.  This process will be handled professionally and responsibly to ensure the GTH can continue to help drive economic growth in Saskatchewan.”
